Aimie Marfaing
Improviser & cellist
After studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Didier Poskin and Marie Hallynck, Aimie Marfaing obtained her Master’s degree in cello, as well as a Master’s degree in didactics and an agrégation in music. Deeply curious and passionate about sharing music with as many people as possible, she performs regularly in Belgium and France as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician. She also regularly performs with the BPhO.
A member of the Lumie duo (piano and cello), she also takes part in multidisciplinary projects, particularly involving theatre. From classical and Baroque music to contemporary music and improvisation, Aimie explores the full range of her instrument’s sonic possibilities to convey emotion to audiences. She also teaches cello at several music academies in Belgium.
